Laser Resurfacing (Non-Surgical)

laser resurfacing

Laser resurfacing is a highly effective means of improving the surface appearance of the skin. The entire face can be treated, or just segmental regions with specific concerns such as: surface wrinkles and irregularities of the forehead and brow region; crow’s feet or wrinkles at the corners of the eyes or underneath the eyes; fine vertical lines around the lips called bleed lines or “smoker’s lines”; surface irregularities such as acne scars; even small benign lesions.

With fractionated laser resurfacing using the Active and Deep FX system, a CO2 laser beam is applied in a fractional pattern, leaving small “bridges” of untouched skin. This fractionated technique makes the healing process faster, safer, and enables a quicker return to normal activities. Active and Deep FX produces a dramatic effect on the skin by causing immediate collagen contraction, stimulates new collagen formation, plumps the skin, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, softens deeper frown lines, evens out skin color and improves skin tone and texture.

Significant results are seen after only one treatment, but more treatments may be advised to treat deeper, more significant wrinkles or scars. Downtime from laser resurfacing ranges from 5 to 10 days, depending upon the intensity of the treatment. Full resolution of associated redness may take over a month.
