The first and only FDA approved injectable drug that contours and improves the appearance of submental fullness under the chin, commonly known as double-chin
How KYBELLA works
The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, KYBELLA® destroys fat cells, and once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal. This results in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin, revealing an improved chin profile.
What we love about it
It’s great that Kybella is a non-surgical and minimally invasive procedure, it is quick and easy. Kybella works for the aging person that is seeing heaviness in the jaw to get the triangle of youth back as opposed to the triangle of aging.
What to expect
Before beginning treatment, we will examine the area under and around the chin to determine if KYBELLA® is right for you. Then we will tailor a treatment designed for your aesthetic goals. The treatment consists of multiple small injections under your chin and is complete in 15-20 minutes. You will likely experience some swelling, bruising, or numbness under your chin. Be sure to inform your healthcare professional if you develop an uneven smile, facial muscle weakness, or difficulty swallowing.
How many treatments?
Most plans require between 1 to 3 treatments given at least 1 month apart.
