Microneedling and Microneedling with PRP

Non Surgical Procedures

Lumenis M22 Laser

Throughout your daily routine, your skin takes a lot of abuse with exposure to the elements, which only encourages and accelerates the existing degradation of facial skin caused by the aging process. As a result, you might see fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots, blotchy skin, oversized pores, and an overall dull appearance in your face. While you might use products to combat these effects, you may occasionally desire a deeper, more intense healing experience for your skin, and that is what you’ll find with OxyGeneo. This non-invasive treatment is designed to be a 3-in-1 Super Facial that can be tailored to the specific needs of your skin type. One treatment can yield dramatic results, but you may be compelled to keep coming back for regular rejuvenation with this innovative system.

An Overview of Microneedling

Microneedling is a cosmetic treatment that stimulates the body’s own healing processes to generate new collagen and skin tissue. It’s primarily used on the face, where it can treat a wide range of cosmetic concerns, such as the following:

  • Scars
  • Wrinkles
  • Large pores
  • Dull, dry skin
  • Sagging skin
  • Stretch marks

What to Expect from Microneedling

When you arrive at Perfection Plastic Surgery and Skin Care, you will first have a consultation to determine whether microneedling is right for you. We’ll encourage you to ask any questions you may have, as patient education is important to us. If you decide to move forward with the treatment, a trained provider will move a pen-like device over the skin to create thousands of very tiny micro-punctures. This stimulates the skin’s healing process.

The Combination of Microneedling with PRP Therapy

Microneedling can be done as a solo treatment. However, it can also be done in combination with PRP therapy. PRP refers to platelet-rich plasma injections, which have been used extensively in medical treatments, such as in sports medicine. For medical purposes, PRP is thought to support the healing process. Microneedling with PRP is often referred to as a “vampire facial”.

When used in a cosmetic setting, PRP therapy can work in conjunction with microneedling to dramatically improve skin tone and texture, stimulate the production of collagen and new skin cells, and subsequently minimize the appearance of scars and fine lines. The result is a more radiant, youthful complexion.

If we determine that PRP therapy is appropriate for you, a highly trained and qualified provider will draw a small sample of your own blood. This is then processed in a centrifuge to separate the plasma, which is then injected into the treatment area. At our medical spa, we make every effort to make the process as comfortable and pleasant as possible for you.

Microneedling Safety and Precautions

While microneedling has a strong safety profile, we always ask for a patient’s full health history to make sure it’s an appropriate treatment. Microneedling may not be appropriate for women who are pregnant, people who use certain acne medications, and those with a history of certain skin conditions. Here at Perfection Plastic Surgery, your safety and well-being are our top priorities. Thus, we will not recommend this treatment if you are not an ideal candidate. However, we can help you explore alternatives that may be more appropriate for your medical history.

Perfection Plastic Surgery and Skin Care is pleased to offer microneedling to our valued patients. Here at our Tucson location, we focus on providing personalized, friendly experiences to our patients because we believe that every patient deserves an individualized treatment plan.
