Chemical Peels

Tried-and-true treatment for addressing fine lines, rough texture, dull-looking skin, break-outs and uneven pigment. Peels contain different agents, including alphahydroxy, betahydroxy, salicylic, glycolic, lactic, malic, retinoic and/or trichloracetic acids. These solutions vary in strength and composition, designed to treat specific skin conditions. Stronger peels are associated with amplified results but typically involve more downtime for complete healing. Chemical peels are often performed as a 4-6-treatment sequence in order to achieve optimal results. Typically, subsequent treatments are recommended for maintenance.

Photorejuvination Therapy

Technology that uses energy from a Potassium Titanyl Phosphate (KTP) laser, to gently penetrate the skin, targeting unwanted pigment and vessels.  The treatment also minimizes the appearance of imperfections in the skin’s tone and texture. KTP is effective in treating unwanted pigment, rosacea, veins, and can restore a youthful radiance to your skin.  While results may be visualized after one treatment, photorejuvenation is best designed in a series of three to five treatments.

Photodynamic Therapy (PDT)

This therapy uses a photosensitizing drug (a substance that becomes activated by light exposure) and a light source to activate the applied drug. PDT essentially has three steps. First, a light-sensitizing substance, aminolevulinic acid (ALA) is applied to the skin. Second, there is an incubation period of several hours. Finally, the target skin is exposed to a specific wavelength of light (KTP), which activates the photosensitizing substance. PDT is an effective means of treating actinic keratosis or other skin imperfections, and significantly improves overall tone, texture and color. The skin will be red and peeling will occur for five to seven days post-procedure.
