Body contouring after weight loss
Significant weight loss, achieved by proper nutrition and exercise or through bariatric surgery has many health benefits. However, the result to your body is often loose, sagging, skin and irregular body contours. The areas most commonly affected include the face, jowls and neck; upper arms; breasts; abdominal area, extending around the sides and into the lower back area; upper back area and buttocks, groin and thighs. Surgical body contouring improves the shape and tone of the underlying tissue that supports the skin, and removes the excess fat and skin.
This final phase of your weight loss experience, performed when your weight stabilizes, gives your body more normal and smoother contours.
Dr. Kay’s Approach
During an extensive consultation, I will devise a plan with you, taking into consideration your specific goals, health, safety and comfort as well as my surgical judgement. Plastic surgery procedures that I might recommend include facelift, neck lift, breast lift, tummy tuck, lower body lift, inner thigh lift and arm lift. Some of these procedures can safely be combined during the same surgery, as long as you are healthy and the surgery does not exceed six hours of anesthesia time. However, it may be necessary to complete all of your desired surgery in more than one session for safety reasons. Body contouring is an important and rewarding phase of your weight loss challenge to have a healthier, more proportionate body and can help you further enhance your body image and self-confidence. During this journey, my staff and I are committed to providing you the most comprehensive, compassionate care possible.
